Obituary of Alfred J. Santoro

Alfred J. Santoro, on January 20 in Hartford Hospital of natural causes. Born September 14, 1920, a lifelong resident of Stamford. He was employed in area printing plants as a pressman. Employed at the Stamford Advocate, O’Brian Press, McKean Press, Conde Nast Press, Data products and General Electric Co. from which he retired.
He was a graduate of Stamford High School, class of 1937. He was a member of the International Printing Pressmen Union, Local 317. He was a veteran of World War II, in the Army Signal Corp. Also a member of the American Legion, Post #3; The Association of Retired Persons, Chapter 4539 and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Michelina Magliero Santoro; his parents, Leopoldo and Agnes Santoro; two brothers, Louis and Michael Santoro; and a sister, Concetta DeSio. He is survived by his son, Paul R. Santoro and a daughter, Frances M. Santoro, three granddaughters, Michele, Christina and Andrea and a sister, Mildred Sargeant.
He enjoyed writing letters to the Editor of the Stamford Advocate, ocean cruises, Long Island Sound, gardening, cooking and his home of 60 years.
