Obituary of Nick Lombardo

Nick Lombardo, a resident of Norwalk and a former resident of Darien for over 50 years, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on October 21, 1920 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Dominick Lombardi and Anna Ferullo Lombardi. He was 91. He was a former owner of Pierre's Restaurant and Nicks Place in New Canaan. He also worked for the New Canaan Board of Education for 15 years as a maintenance mechanic. After working for the Board of Education, he was a former guard at Shore & Country Club in Norwalk and a former member of the New Canaan Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his two sons, Neal M. Lombardo of Mebane, NC; John Lombardo of Norwalk and four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Rose Warren of Darien and Mary Plant of Stamford. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred M. Lombardo. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
