Obituary of Frank Taylor Cary

Frank Taylor Cary, a Darien resident for the past 40 years, died peacefully at his home Sunday, January 1, 2006. Born December 14, 1920, he was the son of Dr. Frank T. Cary and Ida Hayden Cary of Inglewood, CA, where he was raised. Mr. Cary graduated from UCLA in 1943, served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and graduated from Stanford Business School in 1948. He spent his entire career at International Business Machines starting as a salesman and eventually serving as Chairman and CEO. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Curtis Cary, his four children, Marshall, Bryan, Steven, and Laura, and 12 grandchildren. A private memorial was held January 2, 2006.
