Of all of Jon's deep and meaningful phrases and quotes, that he and I would discuss at length, the one that impacts me (and my family) the most is "build some memories". And if you have a minute, here's a read we often chatted about: www.goodreads.com/quotes/22242-the-paradox-of-our-time-in-history-is-that-we

I knew Jon from Good Counsel. I lost touch with him over the years but sounds like he lived a blessed and fruitful life. I do remember driving him home from HS football practices cause we lived kinda close to each other in MD. One day after practice Jon stepped into the back seat of my 65 Chevy II and put his foot through the rusted rear floorboard. He didn't miss a beat and commenced pretending like he was Fred Flintstone! That was Jon's great sense of humor!
Jon, you and your family are in our prayers during this time of testing and pain.
Our deepest condolences to the Schoen Family.

We were so saddened to hear of Jon's passing. Our deepest sympathies to Patty and family. We always considered Jon to be such a thoughtful, caring person of the highest integrity, with a great sense of humour. At BC, Jon and Patty helped to set us up, and we were always grateful to them for that.
We hope that Patty and family can find comfort in knowing that Jon brightened many lives through his considerable generous actions, and he will never be forgotten by those who knew him.

I was devasted to learn of the news. My heart stopped and I couldn't breathe. I worked with Jon closely for 18 years he taught me everything I know. He challenged me to be a better person. I got his lunch and mine everyday. He paid. He ate whatever I got him. He was one of the funniest guys I knew. I sat next to him for years. He became my boss. I loved his stories. I'll never forget he came in one morning and said, Sam I woke up this morning and a black cat was on my bed. I said ok. He said Sam I don't have a black cat!!!! I remember his Zenga suits and the day he bought the Boxster. He loved his wife Patty. What a storybook romance. He would always talk about her running, tennis and what a good mom she was. Schoen loved his children. Jon loved life. He was a great man and I had the privilege to know him and I feel blessed. He made me a better person. May in Rest In Peace.

Patty. Was made aware of Jon's passing and felt compelled to leave you a note. Even though we have lost touch, my affection for you has never waned. In our period as roomies in the cool carriage house in Newton so many years ago after BC, I was privileged to be part of the early days of your relationship with Jon and it was obvious then how special your relationship was and how crazy he was for you from day 1. My prayers are with you and your kids....I have no doubt that Jon is with you and will continue to walk alongside you always. I have always missed you and my heart is sad as I think of you negotiating this very difficult time. My sincere condolences and love. Jim Kennedy

Whether it was in sports, in business, or in life, Jon Schoen was a guy you always wanted on your team. Jon embraced the Morgan Stanley grind with a combination of work ethic, sense of humor, and grace that was contagious. I had the privilege of spending several years commuting with Jon, and have many fond memories talking shop, family, and of course football with my favorite BC Eagle. As Jon's Morgan Stanley Family mourns his loss, our deepest sympathies go out to Patty and the children. RIP #85.

I had the privilege of working with Jon at Morgan Stanley for 5 years. He treated everyone with respect and grace. Always a welcome smile for anyone he met. He was a class act, a great father, and a great husband. His legacy will live on in his three terrific children and his loving wife Patty.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to all the Schoens and O'Hagans.
