Charlotte and Scott, I hope this condolence letter reaches you. I am so sad about the passing of your Dad. He was one of my dearest friends when he lived at Rowayton Woods and he was my mixed doubles tennis partner. We had lots of fun, laughs and adventures, whether it be out on the boat, ice skating, going to Burgers, Shakes and Fries or 25 cent wings on Wednesday nights watching a Rangers games. But mostly our conversations were about you two and how much he loved being with you and how proud he was of both of you. Charlotte, I only met you once, but your Dad talked about you, lacrosse, how proud he was of you and your move to Boston. He loved telling me ... "I am going to surprise Charlotte at her game today". Scott, it truly was a pleasure getting to know you and speaking Italian with you. Your Dad was so psyched when you two had Ranger tickets together so he could spend quality time with you and cheer on "your" team. He also was so excited about learning Italian for your wedding so he could try to communicate with everyone and we discussed fun places for him to travel in Italy. You two spoke so well at his funeral. Having done that for my Dad, it is not easy and your Dad would have been applauding both you. Alan was always so full of life, love and laughter, and I will miss him dearly. Today, I made a snow angel on the tennis court in his honor ... he would have liked that.
