I was thinking of your lovely artwork & googled you, Brook when I unhappily stumbled onto your Mom's obit. She was a nice lady, and my Mom, also gone now, liked her & spent many happy days volunteering at the Hindley Library with her. Sincere condolences & I hope you're still drawing. Jean Mulkerin Stanton (Jan), Carolina Beach, NC.

I just came across this obituary. Mrs. Dillon came to visit my first grade class in New Canaan many years ago. I read the book, Mr. Chill, to my first graders every January. It is my favorite, but I also love The Teddy Bear Tree and Who Needs a Bear? (which she signed for me!) Oh, and What's Happened to Harry! Her books were the ultimate kid fantasies! My students have always asked, "Did she write any more?" after I finished reading one of her books. A life well lived. May she Rest in Peace.

My sincere condolences are extended to the Dillon family for the loss of your dear loved one. Please know that our heavenly Father truly cares about you and feels the pain you are going through. Death was never part of God’s original purpose for mankind, so it greatly pains Him to lose one of His people. (Psalm 116:15) Therefore, at Isaiah 26:19, God promises that death will only be temporary, for He will soon restore our lost loved ones to life right here on the earth. What a wonderful time we have to look forward to! Until this loving promise is fulfilled, may your fond memories of Ms. Dillon bring you solace at this difficult time.
