Obituary of Asa B. Bisset

Please share a memory of Asa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Asa B. Bisset of Darien, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 28th surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Sweden to Axel and Signe Bjrkdahl. Asa was raised with her sisters Sylvia, Barbro and Annika. After graduating from the Stockholm's School of Economics, she moved to New York where she met her loving husband of 42 years, Alfred G. Bisset. Earning her CPA, together they founded A.G. Bisset & Company and raised five children in Darien. An active woman and avid health nut, she enjoyed skiing in the winter and hiking the Appalachian Trail and sailing in the summer. Staying fit to the end, she practiced yoga and pilates with friends at the senior center. A true Swede at heart with an incredible sense of humor, she taught her children the Swedish language, culture and traditions, instilling a viking spirit in all. She and Fred had endless adventures around the globe. They traveled for work and for play, often bringing all of their children to experience the wonders of the world with them. An incredible wife and mother who will be missed beyond belief, she is survived by her husband, five children Skeff, John, Alexandra, Allison, Kristina and twelve grandchildren. A memorial service in her honor is being planned for later this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider donating to ALS Therapy Development Institute. www.als.net/donate or to the Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center of Columbia University, Columbia University Medical Center, Office of Development Attn: Matt Reals, 516 W. 168th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10032 Funeral Home: Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien, CT USA 06820
