Obituary of Cathleen E. Licero
Please share a memory of Cathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cathleen Evans Licero died on Monday, January 18th, 2021 after a long and truly valiant struggle with complications from breast cancer. She is survived by her much loved and loving husband, of 41 years, Ross J. Licero and their three children, her children’s spouses and grandchildren: Ross Ladd (Christine), Bonnie (Michael Peterson) and Jordan (Christopher Bevan) and her grandchildren Lillian Evans Peterson, Haley Kain Peterson and Ross Shaker Licero. Cathleen is also survived by her mother, Maria Evans, and her brothers and sisters-in-laws: Robert Evans, Douglas Evans, Christine Carswell and Jane Evans. She was predeceased by her father, Bob “Boe” Evans and her brother, David Evans.
Cathleen graduated from Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, MD, and Bucknell University in Pennsylvania with honors. She received a Masters of Business Administration in marketing from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York City.
Cathleen made a life-long habit of applying her considerable strengths to every role and responsibility she undertook. IBM benefited from her diligent and insightful contributions during an over 40-year career there in global sales, strategy, marketing and communications roles. Her community benefited from her roles as an elder at the Noroton Presbyterian Church and as an active member of St. Luke’s Parish in Darien, CT. Her vast number of long friendships (some dating from grade school but from every period of her life) and their range (including many of different circumstances, opinions and outlooks than her own) are a testament to her deep capacity as a friend. Cathleen’s active creativity as a photographer, world-traveller, musician and baker sustained and informed all aspects of her life. Cathleen combined a keen, independent intellect and a caring heart and touched all. She will be very missed.
The family requests any remembrances be made in her name to the American Breast Cancer Society.
