Obituary of Frances Mary Vodraska Martin

Frances Mary Vodraska Martin, 96, of Stamford, CT and formerly of Oradell, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. She was born in New York City in 1915 to the late Frances and Anton Vodraska. She graduated from Merchants and Bankers Secretarial School. Frances worked in the 1930s and 1940s for Kinograms, Thomas A. Edison Studios, Eastern Services Studios, Audio Productions and Compton Advertising. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization for women, and the Union Memorial Church. Frances is survived by her daughter Donna Martin of Stamford. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Donald J. Martin and by her brother, Anthony Vodraska. A heartfelt thank you is extended to her physician, Lee Tracy Silva, and her numerous caregivers over the past several years for the exceptional care and comfort they provided. Calling hours will be at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Interment will be private.
