John Goldthwaite Davis, Jr., a resident of Darien, CT, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Long Ridge of Stamford. Born July 8, 1930 in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late John G. and Mary Dean Davis. He was 83. John graduated from Darien High School and University of Bridgeport. He entered the U. S. Army and served three years in eight countries with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a volunteer fireman in Noroton for over 38 years and also served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 53. He loved to sing, in the choir at Noroton Presbyterian Church, with The Troupers Light Opera Company (a founding member with his father), The Norwalk Community Chorale and the Serendipity Singers of Norwalk. He is survived by two sons, John G. III and Thomas M., both of Darien; a daughter, Deborah Anne of Portland, OR; and three grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister, Anne Goldthwaite and a brother, Lloyd Taylor Davis. Interment was private. Donations in is honor can be sent to Darien Post 53, P. O.
