Obituary of Betty Anne Louise Lyons Sisson

Betty Anne Louise Lyons Sisson, a former 11 year resident of Darien, CT died August 16 at her home in Kennett, PA. Born in Fort Sheraton, IL in 1922, she shared her father's and grandfather's love for horses competing at the Devon Horse Show when she was 17. She graduated from Chevy Chase Junior College and after a modeling career in New York City with the Ford Modeling Agency, married John Fletcher Sisson in 1948. She was a wonderful mother and wife and enjoyed the theater, tennis, travel drawing, poetry and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She supported many charities for protecting animals and adopted pets whenever asked. She is survived by a son, David Fletcher Sisson of Chadds Ford, PA; two daughters, Karen Sisson Marshall of Kennett, PA and Elizabeth Sisson Dolphin of Burlington, CT; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Sisson, in 1991.Her family will best remember her loving gracious manner and ready smile. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on September 14 at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel in Darien, CT.
