Obituary of Frederick Lord, Jr.

Frederick “Bucky” Lord, Jr., a life long Darien/Stamford resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at St. Camillus Health Center, Stamford. Born October 8, 1924 in Darien, he was the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Jamrosy) Lord. He was 81. Mr. Lord graduated from Darien High School. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a crossing guard for the City of Stamford for the last 10 years. He was a former long time member of the Noroton Fire Department, a long time member of the Darien, Springdale and Westport V.F.W.’s and was a former commander of Springdale and Westport V.F.W.’s He had a great love for all types of animals. He is survived by his daughter, Debbi Lord of Stamford; one brother, Alfred Lord of Wilton, CT; one sister Nancy Hardie of Miami, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley (Vachss) Lord; one daughter, Rose F. Lord; one brother, Kenneth Lord and one sister, June Ferranti. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, August 25, 2006 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A private family interment will take place at Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford.
