Obituary of John Phillip Derr Kauffman

John Phillip Derr Kauffman, a resident of Darien for over 55 years, died peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his home. Born on December 16, 1919 in Williamsport, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Isabel Kauffman.
Jack received his B.A. degree from Duke University. He ended his career as chairman and C.E.O. of the Newspaper Advertising Bureau in New York City. He was a long time member of Wee Burn County Club and Tokeneke Beach Club. He is survived by two children, a daughter, Missy Galloway of Ponte Vedre Beach, FL and a son Scott Kauffman of Topping, VA. He is also survived by one grandchild, Virginia Cooper and two great grandchildren, Gabe Cooper and Anna Cooper. A private family service and interment was held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Darien. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gloucester Mathews Humane Society, Inc. P. O. Box 385, Gloucester, VA 23061-0385. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien is handling the funeral arrangements.
