Obituary of William J. Moore, Sr.

William J. Moore, Sr., a former long time resident of New Milford, CT, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT. Born September 22, 1931 in Stamford, CT, he was the son of the late John and Charlotte (Studwell) Moore. He was 74. Mr. Moore graduated from Stamford High School, Class of 1949. He saw combat with the U.S. Marines in Korea during the Korean War. He was a retired repairman with SNET. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Milford, a life member of American Legion and the V.F.W. both in New Milford. He was also a member of Masonic Union Lodge #5 AF & AM in Stamford. He is survived by three sons, Thomas K. Moore of Fairfield, CT; David K. Moore of Kent, CT and William J. Moore, Jr. of Missouri; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Geraldine Fedak of Yonkers, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Chillington Moore. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may meet between 9:30 and 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 to go in procession to a Graveside Service at 10:15 AM at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien with full Military Honors.
