Obituary of Mildred Madeleine Acton Thomas

Mildred Madeleine Acton Thomas, a long time resident of Darien, CT prior to moving to Fairfield, CT, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Carolton Convalescent Home in Fairfield. Born on June 9, 1923 in Darien, she was the daughter of the late Ethel Gartrell and Howard Acton. She was 88. She is survived by her daughter Gail Thomas Ficken and her husband, Barry E. Ficken of Westport, CT; a sister, Evelyn Acton Kuban of Brookfield, CT and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Zolton Thomas; two brothers, Howard Acton, Jr. of Darien and Gerald E. Acton of Fairfield, CT. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Chapel, 1864 Post Road, Darien on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 5:00 PM. A private family interment will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Near and Far Aid Association, Inc., P. O.
