Obituary of Victor J. Racaniello, Jr.

Victor J. Racaniello, Jr. a Darien resident for 61years, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Stamford Hospital, Stamford. Born July 12, 1941 in Stamford, he was the son of Helen Stepien Racaniello of Darien and the late Victor John Racaniello, Sr. He was 73. Victor graduated from Darien High School in 1960. After high school, he joined the Army Reserve Station at Ft. Sills, OK. Victor joined the Darien Police Department on November 1, 1966 where he was a Police Officer for 28 years. He retired on January 9, 1995. After retiring from the police force, Victor was a stay at home dad taking care of his beloved son, Sean. Besides his mother, Victor is survived by his wife, Karen Racaniello of Darien; his son, Sean E. Racaniello also of Darien. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Jim) Hill of Palm Harbor, FL; a brother, John Racaniello of Norwalk, CT; his mother-in-law, Linnette Harvey of Windsor, NY; his brother-in-law, Steve (Leslie) Harvey of Port Orchard, WA; sister-in-law, Esther Harvey of Connecticut; four nephews and four nieces; and many great nieces and nephews. Victor was predeceased by his father-in-law, James H. Harvey and brother-in-law, Kevin M. Harvey. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A private family interment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
