Obituary of Anthony Joseph Verrico, Sr.

Anthony Joseph Verrico Sr. - Anthony (Tony) Joseph Verrico Sr., 74, of Stamford/Darien/ Wilton, CT and North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Wilton Meadows Convalescent Home, Wilton, CT. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a retired U.S. Postal worker. He had many interests, from building and flying model planes, to working on engines of all sizes. He was a car buff, enjoyed music from the Doo-wop era especially those "Oldies but Goodies," and dont forget Country Music! Tony loved fishing, boating, traveling, and cooking. He is survived by his wife Polly A.(Schneider) Verrico, sister Barbara M. Verrico Pereira and her husband Joseph S., brother Joseph P. Verrico and his wife Frances (Betsy) Saxe., granddaughter Savanah A. Verrico Cartagena and her husband Efrain, great grandchildren Eli Efrain and Lia Taylor Cartagena and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-decease by his mother Concentina R. Procaccini Verrico, father Joseph Verrico, brothers Peter John Verrico, Robert Michael Verrico and his sons Anthony Joseph Verrico Jr. and Robert Karl Verrico. There will be a memorial service Saturday, May 5th 12 p.m. for family and friends at Saint Pauls Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Avenue Darien, CT with a reception to follow. Edward Lawrence Funeral Home of Darien, CT is handling the arrangements. Interment will be privately held.
