I'd spoken to Joseph just the year before. We met about 40 years ago when he was at Mass General & I was still at University. We became good friends then lost touch but reconnected on and off through the years. I remember when he called me out of the blue after many years. He told me his wife had passed. He said he had a daughter Chiara. I was in high tech by then & had horses. I said "Chiara needs a pony! I'll teach her!" I really did try to convince him.
Well last we spoke he was so very, very happy to be living with his grown daughter and her husband in Rhode Island. And he especially loved the chihuahuas. I asked which chihuahua slept with him. He said it all depends on how they feel that night.
Dr. Deltito had an ivy league education, was a brilliant, and a dedicated clinician. But most of all he was so kind & so caring.
God Bless you Joseph,
My sincerest condolences to your daughter, Chiara, and your family.
