Dear Barbara and Peter, I just learned of Brett’s passing and I send my heartfelt condolences. Brett was a special person. He was one of my favorite, faithful youth group members. He added so much to the group of teens who met each week. My prayers are with Brett and the entire Kelly family. May he rest in the peace and loving arms of his God. Sincerely, Janis Pataky

I had the honor of calling Brett a teammate for 3 years doing something that we both loved, playing hockey. Practicing against the same people every day sometimes naturally made you hate the other person. I never felt that with Brett. He was a constant beam of light in the locker room and on the ice. Always steady, always smiling, and always brightening up everyone’s day. Brett, you will be so dearly missed. Brett was a fine young man. He was a wonderful friend to our son Jesse growing up in Darien. It is with great sorrow we learned of his passing. I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Brett. We never met but I heard about Brett when he was still a kid and my mom, "Aunt" Babs, thought so much of you all. My sincere condolences to Brett's wife Briana and the Kelly family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
