Dear Nancy, Matt, Ashley, Caitlin, Lucas, Nick and Kelsey,
It was a shock to learn from Mike, Jr, of Mike's passing. It was only a few weeks ago that I bumped into Nick and Kelsey while walking Chip in front of the Sugar Bowl. Nick and Kelsey caught me up on all the great things that were happening in the Heitz family. Life is fragile.
Seeing Nick always brings back such great memories on the lacrosse field as I had the good fortune to coach Nick and his Darien teammates during high school. Mike was always such a great supporter of Darien Lacrosse. Off and on I would see Mike on the sidelines cheering on the team wearing a great big smile.
After Nick went off to college, oftentimes I'd see Mike on the sidelines supporting the DHS lacrosse, team always there to cheer the team on, he was always a true blue supporter. Now Darien Lacrosse and Mike's family and friends will miss his positive support and that great big big smile.
