rich was with me the two worst difficult times of my life. And I was with him right before this happened. It’s hard to share the story, because I love him so dearly, he is a dear friend. And I love him. We met in 2019, what is the first worst days of my life, I had just gone through divorce as a single mom, I just put my daughters on the plane to go visit their dad for the first time, for the first time I was by myself, it was St. Patrick’s Day, so I found the closest Irish bar, went there, it was busy and packed, I walked up to the bar, first time by myself, and he seen me. He walked up to me and introduced himself, and told me his name is Rich Peters. Which I still laugh about today. From there on we started a friendship that lasted. Yes we dated as a couple - but then decided to be your more friends. Over the course of the last 2 1/2 years, I have cooked for this man in my kitchen more than anybody else. He said he enjoyed the silence, we both did. He’d text saying he needed to come over, I tell him I was cooking, and he can come over and just sit in my kitchen, at my kitchen bar, I turn on music, pour us both a drink, and he silently sit there and just watch me cut and prepare dinner. The second worst and hardest day of my life was December 20 of last year, my daughter decided she wanted to go live with her dad, I had just drop her off at the airport, I didn’t want to be alone, and I drove to rover bar, I did not tell him, but magically he was there. He was at my house only six weeks ago, his hair was growing longer, he was slicking it back, and candidly I liked it longer. But he laughed at me for saying. We were supposed to have dinner his last night, and he did not show. I text messaged him several times, and he never responded. Rich, I love you!

A life is a precious gift & our time never promised or guaranteed. Your son, was a kind soul & one quick with a polite hello, and a sincere “how are you?” & truly wanting to hear the answer. I had the pleasure of talking with him on so many topics & our love for the Met’s. Truly, sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to your family during this time. Irish pray, may he be in Heaven and hour before the Devil knew.

I did not have the opportunity to know Rich for as long or perhaps as deeply as many others here. Yet, even the mere minutes I was able to spend with him over the years were always pleasant and filled with positive insight. He was there for me on many occasions when I needed a friend to talk to and to listen and I will always be grateful for having known him. I am truly saddened for all who were privileged enough to have him as a part of their life.

Dear Yonne, we share your pain and grief of the untimely loss of your son Richard. We know that it is the most heart wrenching feeling in the world to lose a child. It leaves an infinite emptiness that will never be filled as you keep on reliving wonderful memories from his childhood and teenager days to adulthood. May God’s grace and the life of Richard lived sustain you through these difficult days and afterwards. Love, Lloyd & Camille Ramsaran

We all grew up together in those glorious days when we lived in Astoria and when Richie was born. Along with my wife, Daught, our three sons Raymond, Eddie and Alvin, and Andy, my young cousin, we watched him grow up into a fine young man. Richie, like his sister, Sarah, did well for himself, thanks to guidance from his Mom and Dad. He had a degree from a prestigious university and landed a great job as a regional manager of a big telecommunications firm. He obviously had everything going for himself, which makes it all so hard to accept his untimely passing. He was too young to go, but the Good Lord knows best. My God bless his Mom, Yvonne, sister, Sarah, the three grandchildren and Tero at this most difficult time. May Richie rest in Heavenly peace.
