Henry was one of my very first students in an Early Childhood classroom. He was one of those little boys who just woke up running and didn’t stop until he fell asleep! He was curious about everything and would rapid fire questions. He was in my very first class I had at the Nature Center in New Cannan. His family was so warm and inviting to me and made me feel like I belonged there. When I had little boys of my own, I would think of Henry often and even told his mother; I have a Henry now too…he runs until he just passes out and when he hits the pillow at night. He’s one of those kids that, as a teacher, you just never ever forget. Thinking of and praying for his family.

Chip, Sima, Lily, Anna and Olivia, we are so deeply saddened by the loss of Henry. We will forever remember the birthday parties, the play dates and the Hurricane Sandy “sleepover” at your house. Henry was always a sweet, kind, welcoming kid, so easy to be around. We’ll always think of him with a smile.

Tenacious, full contact basement hockey. A 45 year old versus a couple 8-10 year olds, hands down the toughest and most persistent 10 year old I ever played. I may have notched a couple victories here and there but my wrists and shins paid a hefty price. “This would be different on ice” Henry would say matter of factly but he always fist bumped afterwards despite his disappointment losing to an old man. As unfathomable and devastating as his passing is, he was a great kid, a product of being raised in such an amazing family environment. Sima and Chip-Henry is a testament to your own persistent dedication as supportive and devoted parents.

There are broken hearts everywhere for Henry's family. My family has known Henry for more than 10 years as he and my son, Will, have played hockey (and golf more recently) together for a very long time. Henry was a very special young man. He had the gifts of smarts, athleticism, and an amazing sense of humor. His trash talking was legendary and so was his infectious personality. Everyone wanted to be around him all the time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Sima, Chip and the entire family.
