Dear family, condolences from Belgium , Blankenberge , the vzw De Scute . We were in contact with Pat while building Vintage an Atkin sloop design. As it happens we launched Vintage last week. Let this be a fine tribute to Pat s legacy.

Good teachers are bright lights in a young person's life; sparking creativity and passion in their students and Pat Atkins was my bright light. She was my art teacher in elementary school and taught me how to work in clay then firing our pieces with great care. I still have a statue that I made in her class. The spark carried on when I ran into Pat at a Rowayton Art Center opening and introduced her to my son who has carried on the artistic traditions that Pat started in our family.
My thoughts, condolences and gratitude to her family for sharing her talents with the rest of us.

I’m heartbroken that my beautiful Pat Atkin has received her wings. She was my art teacher in Elementary school. She open my eyes to the wold of art. Especially Starry Starry Night. My favorite. Thank You Mrs. Atkin I will never forget you.

Pat was such a wonderful person, teacher and artist. she was my art teacher at Tokeneke School in the 60's and I still remember how wonderful she was. She was a great inspiration to my brother and I. I love the arts, enjoy painting and making pottery. My brother is a wildlife and foodie photographer. I ran into Pat occasionally the last few years. First, at Silvermine Art Center in the pottery studio when I introduced her as my elementary art teacher and she seemed quite please. I ran into Pat at the Rowayton Art Center where she was displaying some of her beautiful ceramic pieces. My nephew, Dan Scheckler won an award for his artwork at the Darien Art Center and it turned out they new each other. I am only one person who has had the benefit of her inspiration. There are many other students, artists and friends who she has touched and are better for knowing Pat. May she rest in peace.
