I met Ian at his book, “Olivia,” signing at Barrett Bookstore in Darien. When and how told me that his niece was the inspiration for Olivia, my heart melted, and I thought, what a wonderful Uncle and brother! At the time, I was not a mother yet but coincidentally, my niece was born in 2000. He was kind to personalize his thought full, heart felt, fun book for me to give to my niece.I have a daughter and son now and throughout their childhood, they grew up reading and watching Olivia and her growing family, reminding them about what a humble and great spirit who created all from the love he had for his niece and his family, as our inspiration, too. Ian touched countless lives and always will with all he shared. My deep sympathy for your loss.
