Over the years, Prue and I have shared in so many cherished family events and gatherings…the wedding of her son Mike and my daughter Nicole, the births of our shared grandchildren, Myra, Brynn, and Tyler, along with countless other memorable celebrations. I can’t imagine a lovelier person to have been able to share a family, and these special times with. She will be missed terribly.

Growing up on Raymond with Dan, Mike, and Laurie, The Burkhart's door was always open and, despite the legions of kids invading her home, Prue always had a warm smile on her face. As an adult, she was always laughing and smiling whenever we saw her at the Department, the Block Party, or around town. I will always remember her as that smiling face that offered warm sunshine to all with her grace, and the family of kind-hearted people she raised. She lived for her family. May that smile forever shine on the Burkharts.

Aunt Prue was kind, warm, and loving to me from the moment I met her, when I had just begun dating my husband of 21 years, her nephew, John. She was consistently a bright spot in family get togethers, and thoughtfully welcomed us and included us in many ways. She was always sweet to her great nephew Merrick, who sends his love and condolences. We will never forget her smile, her cheerful voice and laugh. Thank you, Prue. We love you.

To a loving neighbor and most likely family from decades past, I want to remember my friend and kind neighbor for her care, loving hugs, her welcoming smile to me upon arriving on the island every time . The call to my house checking in on island going ons for good or bad sharing her concern and best wishes from her and her family. I will think of her every time I see you all and be grateful her kindness is with in you all and that your presence make prue’s memory that of every day we have to enjoy what little or big our families are. With the kindest thoughts and loving Re guards , fondly your friend and neighbor kole and Tara , Vida, Victor ❤️
