Obituary of Annie Samantha Cheng-Necakov
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annie Samantha Necakov on January 9, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on June 14, 1966, in Taiwan to her beloved parents, Wen Huan Cheng and Jui Ching Cheng, Annie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who touched countless lives with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love.
Annie grew up alongside her siblings, Evelyn, Becky, and Michael, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. A graduate of New York University, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and MBA, Annie brought a thoughtful and meticulous approach to everything she did.
Annie chose to dedicate her life to her family as a homemaker, building a warm and loving home in Darien, Connecticut. She was married to her soulmate, George Necakov, and together they raised their two children, Alex and Katie, and their dog Dexter, whom she loved unconditionally. Annie was thrilled to welcome her future daughter-in-law, Victoria Thomas, following Alex’s recent engagement.
Annie had a remarkable gift for crafting and sewing, creating beautiful handmade gifts—wallets, purses, hats, scarves, gloves, and more—for those she loved. Each piece was a reflection of her thoughtful, caring nature. She also found great joy in gardening, spending hours cultivating vibrant flowers and plants that brought her peace and happiness.
Annie’s heart was as big as her creativity. She was the glue that held her family together, always inviting loved ones into her home for holidays and celebrations. Her thoughtfulness extended to everyone she met—she had a special way of making people feel seen and valued, always taking extra time to connect and listen.
Annie is survived by her loving husband, George, her children, Alex (engaged to Victoria Thomas) and Katie, her dog Dexter, her parents, Wen Huan Cheng and Jui Ching Cheng, her siblings, Evelyn, Becky, and Michael, many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
A visitation to honor Annie’s life will be held from 11:00 a.m.- 3PM on January 18, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Boston Post Rd, Darien, Connecticut 06820.
Annie Samantha Necakov was a beacon of love, creativity, and connection. Her legacy will live on through the beautiful memories she created and the lives she touched so deeply. She will be missed more than words can express.
