Obituary of Barbara Phillips Sinnott

Barbara Phillips Sinnott, age 85, passed away on December 26th. Mrs. Sinnott, a long-time resident of Darien, was born July 14, 1935 in Staten Island, NY. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Nancy Lee Phillips. Mrs. Sinnott worked for many years in Darien, and prior to her retirement, worked for 17 years at Kitchens by Deane, having begun working for the founder, Peter M. Deane Sr., in 1980.
Mrs. Sinnott was a third generation of the Daughters of the American Revolution along with Mayflower heritage and having served as a Regent of the Good Wife’s River Chapter (Darien) from 2001-2004. She was a long-time member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Sinnott is survived by three children: Diana Angstadt of Greenville, SC, Jeffrey Northcutt and his wife Colleen of Stamford, CT, and Douglas Northcutt and his wife Christine of Ridgefield, CT; five grandchildren: Amanda Morneau of Concord, NH, Matthew Northcutt of Milford, CT, Ashley Northcutt of New York, NY, and Alexander and Andrew Northcutt of Ridgefield, CT and two great grandchildren. She leaves a brother, John Phillips and his wife, Robin Sidel, of Jersey City, NJ. Mrs. Sinnott was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2002.
A private service will be held at St. Luke’s Church on Tuesday, January 5th at 11:00 am. There will be no calling hours. The service will be available for streaming. Instructions can be found on St. Luke’s Church website at https://www.saintlukesdarien.org
A private burial will be held at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, NY. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
