Obituary of Rita Patricia Scheckler

Rita Patricia Scheckler, a former long time resident of Darien and a current resident of Stamford, died on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on August 2, 1927 in Milltown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Casimir and Josephine Stankiewicz. She was 84.
Rita was a former active member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a glockenspiel instructor for the Noroton Heights Drum Corp. She also loved knitting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by her three children, Robert Scheckler and Theresa Forbes both of Darien and Thomas Scheckler of Norwalk and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1996.
Services will be private. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien handled the arrangements.
