Obituary of Joan V. Raymond

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan V. Raymond passed away on July 13th at the Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford. Born and raised in New York City, Joan attended Julia Richmond High School and went on to graduate from Russell Sage College as a registered dietician. Upon completing an internship at Alemedia County Hospital in California, she returned to New York City and worked at New York Hospital until she married. Joan lived life with passion. She had a generous spirit, helping to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and volunteering at the Westport Nature Center. Always active, she had a true love for tennis and bridge. She had a curious mind that craved adventure and knowledge. Joan could often be found globe-trotting the world with her family and friends discovering and absorbing different peoples and cultures. When not travelling, she loved relaxing in her home on Saugatuck Shores with family and friends, her own piece of paradise. Joan is survived by her two children, Charlie and Patty, and three grandchildren, Matt, Alex, and Kailey. She was, above all, a caring and compassionate person, with a sharp wit and a great sense of humor, who lived life to the fullest. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Joan requested that no services be held, but instead, wished her family and friends think of her with a warm heart and a broad smile. Donations in Joan's memory can be made to Norwalk Hospital Foundation, 34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT 06856. www.lawrencefuneralhome.com Funeral Home: Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien, CT USA 06820
