Obituary of Margaret Mary Quick

Margaret Mary (Silk) Quick passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 with the love of family by her side and now reunites with her beloved husband, Alan, in heaven.
Maggie was born in the Norwalk on November 16, 1937 to the late William and Helen (Carroll) Silk.
She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, and then went on to obtain a nursing degree from St. Raphael's School of Nursing in New Haven. Upon graduation, she became a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford. Although, Maggie's true career began as a mother with the birth of her first child in which she became the most loving and nurturing mother to her five children.
She was best known for being a gourmet cook, scrumptious baker and elegant entertainer hosting the most delicious dinner parties. All that knew her would agree that she made the best chocolate chip cookies! A stunningly beautiful woman with exquisite taste, a passion for gardening and flower arranging, the most perfectly pressed linens and Downy fresh laundry all were Maggie's signature trademarks.
Maggie was a woman of great faith, a loving wife, mother and sister. She is survived by her five children, Michael Quick , his two children, Katie and Brian, Megan Deorio and her husband Jeff, and their three children Matthew, Paul and Caroline, Chris Quick and his wife Heli and their three children Kean, Brogan and Kiili, Tara Tomasetti and her husband Dave, and Paul Quick and his wife Maureen and their three children, Maggie, Sean and Annie.
Maggie is also survived by her two brothers William Silk and his wife Joan, Richard Silk and his wife Kathleen, and her sister Sr. Jane Silk. She was predeceased by her older brother Edward Silk.
There will be no calling hours. A celebratory mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
A very special thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers who have comforted and loved Maggie. From our loving and attentive private care to the dedicated, supportive, respectful and truly extraordinary aides and nursing staff at Notre Dame.
