Jean worked for me at the beach. She was such a joy. I remember her wonderful smile and what a pleasure it was to have her working for us. A truly lovely girl.

I am so sorry for your terrible loss and sadness. I have many, many happy memories of growing up with Jean, as far back as Junior High School at MJHS! We played field hockey together, took classes together, walked home from school together. I remember Jean's ability to make us all laugh. There was a posse of us including Ginny Byers, Susanne Geery, Merrily Van Norstrand, and many more. She had a terrific sense of humor and a wisdom about the world and a sense of irony well before any of us even knew what that meant. She was so smart and could make us all collapse into laughter with a terrifically delivered one-liner. Her sense of timing - even as a teenager - was spot on. Though I've not seen Jean in decades, please know that my happy memories of her will endure for many, many years to come because they are part of me, in that way that all those early life experiences are so formative and leave such an indelible mark on our souls and are thus carried in our hearts forever. My very sincere condolences to the Hessmer family.

Jean was such a beautiful person. She always greeted me with an "hello" which you knew she meant -- they were not just words. Our last meeting I complimented her on a necklace she was wearing to which she responded "I got it from our favorite place -- the Employee Store" then she laughed. Rest in Peace Jean and May Father God has Mercy on your soul. Carol Wright Co-worker - Tiffany & Co.

Dearest Jean. You are so loved and will be so deeply missed. Your kindness, gentle demeanor, genuine character and beauty always seemed purely angelic, so God decided you should be an angel. You will continue to shine your grace on us from above. Your tragic, sudden passing has left such a hole in all of our hearts and we will need you to help us accept this. May God welcome you home and comfort those who love you so dearly.

I cannot believe I am writing this to you. Jean you were so much more than a boss to me. You were a mentor, guidance counselor and friend. When I was having a tough time I called you. When I needed a reference I called you. When I messed up I needed to see you. You taught me a what a good manager and friend was. We laughed, cried and complained together. I will miss you so much. You will NEVER be replaced. Heaven just got another angel.
