I met Tim through the Lotus Club in the mid-80's, talking cars with him on the phone before I moved to the greater NY area and socialized in person. With a fine sense of humor and an infectious laugh, he was always fun to talk to and hang out with. Not a watcher but a doer, he was interested in many things and did many things. It's hard to believe that such a vital man is no longer with us. His family and friends have my deepest sympathy.

I still can't believe that Tim is no longer with us, but his spirit love & compassion for his family will endure forever. What i remember most about Tim are the 3 years we spent together at boarding school in greenwich ct when we first moved to nyc in 1950. We stayed close together because we didn't speak english, everything was so new & foreign to us. All we had was each other. Tim is still here with us in spirit,we will never forget him.

When I started as an editor at The New York Times, I was taught to not allow the use of the word "unique" because it was almost impossible to truly be unique. But Tim was in fact a very unique personality -- curious, inquisitive and thus tuned in to all. He was a friend to all and will be sorely missed.

Tim was a special person and a very talented man. He was full of life and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by anyone who really knew him. He had a wealth of knowledge in toy restoration and was always willing to help and share his talent. He was one of a kind to say the least. We are so sorry and send our thoughts and prayers to his family.

We are very sorry to learn of Tim's passing. He will be missed at all the events we always would see him at - the car shows at Calf Pasture and Caffeine and Carburators in New Canaan, all the tag sales we'd run into him. Enjoyed his enthusiasm for history and all he shared. His sharing stories of being a grandparent like we are...Will miss him down at Roton Point and around town and his stopping by at our place from time to time. Our thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends, Lisa & Jordan Grant.
