Tim Oei passed away peacefully on October 1, 2015 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Born in Semarang, Java, Indonesia Tim was the son of the late Ik Oei and Leonie Livain Oei. The family moved to the United States in 1949. Tim spent his youth in Larchmont, New York. After his marriage he moved to Rowayton, CT. As an industrial designer by profession Tim founded the Industrial Design firm Ferrara and Oei in New York City. In later years he worked in the Industrial Design Department of Pitney Bowes in Stamford, CT until he started his own Design Firm Oei Enterprises in Rowayton, CT. A car enthusiast he raced Formula Fords, loved to crew on sailboats, restored antique toys and loved to travel. He enjoyed being a member of Roton Point Club in Rowayton for many years, where he was known as "the grove rover". Tim's zest for life, boundless creativity, interest in and love for people will be sorely missed. He is survived by his loving wife Nelleke Oei, his children Andrei and Maxim Oei, his brothers Robert and Steve Oei, his sisters Liana and Lelanie Oei and his granddaughter Ella Oei.
