Obituary of William Edward Wunder

Bill died with his beloved family by his side on December 26, 2005 at Stamford Hospital. A 30-year resident of Norwalk, CT, Bill was born on August 16, 1928 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of the late Clara M. and Leonard I. Wunder. Bill was 77 years old.
Mr. Wunder graduated from Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration.
His business career started in 1953 when he entered a management training program with Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. at the Calvert Distillery in Maryland. In 1966, he was transferred to Lawrenceburg, IN as plant controller and then to Louisville, KY as plant manager. In 1975, he was promoted to Vice-President of Manufacturing and Engineering and served as an Officer and Director until his retirement in 1985.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Patricia Stubbs in 1951. They were happily married for 54 years. Bill and Pat were members of St. Thomas More Parish in Darien for 30 years. He and his family enjoyed annual family vacations in Ocean City, MD. He also was a member of the Country Club of Darien where he enjoyed golfing after his retirement.
A devoted family man, he leaves behind his wife, Pat, two sons, two daughters, and their families: Bill and Debbie Wunder of Noblesville, IN; Debbie Lewis of Newburyport, MA; Kathy Pfister of Stamford, CT; and Don Wunder of Ogunquit, ME. Bill also leaves six grandchildren: Kristin, Kathy Scott, Billy, Katie and Robbie.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien, CT.
