Judith M. Foley, a resident of Darien, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford. Born October 26, 1943 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine (Duke) Collins. She was 71. Judith graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer High School in 1961 and from Hunter College in 1965. She was a teacher at St. Thomas More Happiness Preschool. Judith was a member of the Darien Book Aid Plan and the New York Botanical Garden. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Foley of Darien; a son, John Foley of New York, NY; and a sister, Rosanne Van Hoek of Queens, NY. Judith was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Collins. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854 or another cancer research society of your choice.
