Obituary of Kenneth H. Simpson, Jr.

Kenneth H. Simpson, Jr., a 30 year resident of Darien, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born June 2, 1946 in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Kenneth Huston and Jane Bierwirth Simpson. He was 60. Mr. Simpson graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor’s degree and an M.B.A. He was president and C.E.O. of Simpson Asset Management Company. He was also chairman of Mezzanine Capital Property Investors. He was a member of the Tokeneke Club and the University Club. He established a scholarship at Lehigh University, and was an anonymous donor to many charitable causes. Mr. Simpson was also a former active coach and supporter of numerous Darien youth athletic programs. He is survived by his wife, Fouché Simpson of Darien and five children, Elizabeth Thomas of Boston, MA; Annie Truitt of Phoenix, MD; Katie Simpson of San Francisco, CA; Jimmy and John Simpson both of Darien and one granddaughter, Annadel Thomas of Boston, MA. He is also survived by one brother, Jim Simpson of Tucson, AZ and one sister, Nancy Ramirez also of Tucson, AZ. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1864 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Post 53 Ambulance Service, P. O. Box 2066, Darien, CT 06820.
